Our classroom's Social Studies focus was Nowruz, the Persian New Year. Celebrated on the first day of Spring, Nowruz focuses on celebrating families, nature, forgiveness and the renewal of life as seen in nature. Two of the special symbols of Nowruz are the hyacinth, symbolizing Spring, and goldfish, symbolizing life. The children did beautiful work creating both!
Thank you for helping us with our animal reports!
Sharing our research with the class was voluntary. It was a joyful surprise to see how many children wanted to read their report to everyone!
Our last week before break, we did a little something different for reading. We had 4 groups and we practiced and presented a Readers Theater reading about Volcanoes. It was an excellent opportunity to practice what we have learned about speaking up in front of an audience and reading with meaning.
And soon we will all be back together!
🏫We return this Monday at 9:00 AM.
I will send home practice pages in the planners on Monday afternoon.
⭐Erin Jane candle orders are due on Wednesday. The office has some samples....they are soy based and yummy! (and I am PICKY when it comes to fragrances, so order with confidence.)
🌎Earth Day is April 22nd and we will celebrate on Friday the 21st with our annual Cheetah Walk. All funds raised goes directly to the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
☔Wet, cool, weather is still with us. Appropriate footwear and jackets help keep the children warm and dry for those beloved outside moments.
See you soon!
