Shortest Month....

February... but packed with the most
activities!

The 100th day of school is always a fun celebration.
Our snow day made 100th day fall the day before Valentine's Day so we were full of celebratory spirit.

We enjoyed viewing all of the wonderful art pieces which graced our hallways.

But we were partial to what we created for our hall bulletin board. Each child created a wheel, using a coffee filter and markers. When the piece was completed, it was sprayed with water and the children watched the effect with delight.

The pieces were used to create a '100' on our board where we also shared what we did not know 100 days ago.

Valentine's day was a day to share with friends.

Thank you for all your help with our African American reports. In class we learned to observe faces to see each one's unique shapes. Almond eyes, heart shaped face, squared jaw; all this helped us to sketch the subject of our reports.

Next we added color with crayon, oil pastels, and water color.

Our reports were given in class. It is important to practice speaking before a crowd, learning to project and speak clearly. I was so proud  of everyone!

Money and linear measurement have been the focus for the last several weeks.
Hands on experiences are not only fun, but they make a stronger connection in our brains.

 Welcome, Landon!

Other highlights of our month included The US Army Band and, a visit from Blitz!

So now we are a few weeks away from Spring Break (Begins April 3rd) and then our year will race to the finish in June.

Remember to change your clocks---forward one hour!
See you on Monday!
